1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a student account or using TutorAI Marketplace, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy for Students. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms form a binding agreement between you and [Company legal name].
2. Account usage
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be of an age permitted to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these terms on your behalf.
3. Booking lessons
You may book a lesson, package, or trial with any tutor whose services are listed on the platform, subject to their stated availability. A booking is confirmed once payment (or, for an eligible free trial, confirmation without payment) is processed. Free 30-minute trial lessons are limited to one per tutor per student and are subject to tutor availability.
4. Payments
Lesson payments are processed through one of our supported payment gateways (Paystack, PayPal, Telr, or Tinkoff) at the price shown at checkout. Prices are shown in your selected display currency for convenience, but are charged based on the tutor's listed rate; exchange rates used for display are indicative and refreshed periodically, not a guarantee of the exact charged amount in a foreign currency. You agree to pay all amounts due for lessons you book.
5. Refunds
If a tutor cancels a confirmed, paid lesson, you are entitled to a full refund or the option to reschedule. If you wish to cancel a lesson yourself, refund eligibility depends on how far in advance you cancel — see "Cancellation policy" below. Refunds are processed back to your original payment method through the same gateway used to pay, and may take [refund processing time, e.g. 5–10 business days] to appear depending on your bank or payment provider.
6. Cancellation policy
- Cancelling [e.g. 24+ hours] before a lesson: full refund
- Cancelling within [e.g. less than 24 hours] of a lesson: refund at the tutor's discretion, since they've reserved that time for you
- Not attending a lesson without cancelling ("no-show"): generally non-refundable
- Free trial lessons cancelled by the student may not be reissued
A tutor cancelling a confirmed lesson always entitles you to a full refund or reschedule, regardless of timing.
7. Student responsibilities
- Attend booked lessons on time, with a working camera and microphone where the lesson is by video
- Complete the camera/microphone check before joining a live lesson
- Provide accurate information about your level and goals so tutors and AI tools can help effectively
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Pay for lessons you book
8. Acceptable behaviour
You agree not to: harass, threaten, or discriminate against tutors or other users; share illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit content in lessons, chat, or reviews; attempt to circumvent the platform to pay a tutor directly outside the system; misrepresent your identity; or attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account under "Suspension & termination" below.
9. AI feature usage
AI-generated content (lesson plans, quizzes, homework, and AI Assistant replies) is provided as a learning aid and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete — it does not replace your tutor's professional judgment. Do not submit sensitive personal information (financial details, government ID numbers, medical information) into any AI feature. AI features may be temporarily unavailable if the underlying AI provider is unreachable; the platform falls back to standard, non-AI functionality in that case wherever possible.
10. Intellectual property
The platform, its design, and its underlying software are owned by [Company legal name] and protected by intellectual property law. Lesson materials created by a tutor for you remain the tutor's intellectual property unless they indicate otherwise; you may use them for your personal learning but may not redistribute or resell them without the tutor's permission. Content you submit (chat messages, homework answers) remains yours, but you grant us a license to store and display it as needed to operate the platform.
11. Platform rules
All lesson bookings, payments, and communications related to a tutoring relationship formed on the platform must go through the platform. You may not use the platform for any unlawful purpose, to distribute malware, or to scrape or bulk-collect data from tutor profiles.
12. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the platform, with or without notice depending on severity. You may close your account at any time by contacting us — see Account deletion in our Privacy Policy. Termination does not entitle you to a refund for lessons already completed.
13. Disclaimers & liability
The platform connects students with independent tutors; tutors are not our employees, and we do not guarantee any particular learning outcome. The platform, AI features, and video classroom are provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the specific lesson giving rise to a claim.
14. Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction]. We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice, and continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes acceptance.
