1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a tutor account or offering services on TutorAI Marketplace, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy for Tutors. These terms form a binding agreement between you and [Company legal name].
2. Tutor eligibility
To teach on the platform you must be at least [minimum age, e.g. 18] years old, legally permitted to work and provide tutoring services in your jurisdiction, and able to demonstrate relevant knowledge, qualifications, or experience in the subjects you list. We reserve the right to review and approve tutor profiles before they become publicly visible.
3. Identity verification
We may require identity verification before you can accept bookings or receive payouts, which may include confirming your name and contact details. Verification information is used solely for trust & safety and is never published on your public profile. Providing false identity information is grounds for immediate account termination.
4. Professional conduct
You agree to conduct yourself professionally at all times when using the platform: be respectful and appropriate with students, deliver lessons matching what you've advertised in your services, and never request payment outside the platform for a lesson booked through it.
5. Lesson delivery
Lessons must be delivered as described in your service listing, at the scheduled time, using the platform's video classroom unless otherwise agreed and permitted. You must complete your camera/microphone check before your first live lesson and keep your equipment in working order. If AI-generated lesson content is used, review it before presenting it to a student — you remain responsible for the quality and accuracy of what you teach.
6. Availability
You are responsible for keeping your published availability accurate. Repeatedly accepting bookings you cannot honor, or failing to show up for scheduled lessons, may result in a warning, reduced visibility in search results, or suspension.
7. Earnings
You earn the price you set for your services, minus the platform commission described in "Commission" below, for each completed, paid booking. Earnings are calculated automatically and shown on your dashboard as lessons are completed.
8. Payouts
Payouts are made through your chosen supported payment gateway. Payout schedules and minimum thresholds are set out in your dashboard and may vary by gateway and region. You are responsible for providing accurate payout details and for any tax obligations arising from your earnings on the platform — we do not act as your employer or withhold taxes on your behalf unless required by applicable law.
9. Commission
The platform retains a commission on each completed, paid booking, currently set at the rate shown in your dashboard and on our Pricing page. We may adjust the commission rate with reasonable advance notice; continuing to accept new bookings after a rate change constitutes acceptance of the new rate.
10. Cancellation rules
If you cancel a confirmed lesson, the student is entitled to a full refund or a reschedule at their preference. Repeated cancellations initiated by you may affect your standing on the platform, including reduced visibility or suspension. If a student cancels, refund eligibility follows the timing rules in our Student Terms.
11. Content ownership
You retain ownership of the original lesson materials, slides, and media you create. By uploading content to the platform, you grant us a license to store, display, and deliver it to your students as needed to operate the service. AI-generated lesson plans, quizzes, and homework created through your account are yours to use and edit; the underlying AI tooling itself remains our intellectual property.
12. AI feature usage
AI lesson, quiz, and homework generation tools are provided to save preparation time — you are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content for accuracy before sharing it with a student. Do not input a student's sensitive personal information into any AI feature. AI features may be temporarily unavailable if the underlying provider is unreachable; manual lesson creation always remains available as a fallback.
13. Tutor obligations
- Deliver lessons professionally and as advertised
- Respond to student messages and booking requests in a reasonable timeframe
- Keep your profile, services, and availability accurate and up to date
- Protect student data in line with our Privacy Policy for Tutors
- Comply with all applicable laws relevant to providing tutoring services
14. Platform policies
All bookings, payments, and lesson communications with students must go through the platform. Attempting to move a student relationship formed on the platform off-platform to avoid commission is a violation of these terms and may result in suspension.
15. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your tutor account for violating these terms, repeated cancellations or no-shows, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms students or the platform's trust and safety, with or without notice depending on severity. You may close your account at any time — see Account deletion in our Privacy Policy. Any earnings from completed bookings prior to termination remain payable, subject to standard payout processing.
16. Disclaimers & liability
You provide tutoring services as an independent contractor, not as our employee or agent. We do not guarantee a minimum number of bookings or income. The platform, AI features, and video classroom are provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the commission we retained on the specific booking giving rise to a claim.
17. Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction]. We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice, and continuing to accept bookings after such changes constitutes acceptance.
